No matter what your thoughts are on Global Warming Climate Change Climate Crisis, my favorite Dane, Bjorn Lomborg, makes a good case for the actions we should take and the money we should spend.

I really enjoyed that clip. No political group is immune to the use of demogoguery or fear mongering, and terrorism or global warming can equally be used to disable rational thinking and full debate on a subject. Sadly, money saved on failing to employ inefficient attempts to cure global warming would probably not be used to cure malaria, because malaria just isn’t a problem in America. I vaguely remember from my early childhood hearing some grown-ups complain that America shouldn’t waste money on the space program while people were starving in Africa (or even Appalacia), and people complain every day about the money we waste in Iraq that could be spent on… lots of things. Was the space program worth it? Is Iraq? That’s a decision we make as a society, I guess.
I’ll agree, too, that your Dane is pretty good, but not great. Here’s a Great Dane.

That doesn’t excuse spending money on worthless efforts.

Whether you believe in global warming or not, it makes sense to clean up our messes. Good manners, too.

Is this it? If it is, I’m not sure what that has to do with global warming although he does make the same case that Bjorn Lomborg makes: spend money where it will do the most good.
